The surgical procedure is either a traditional two stage technique or one stage non-loading technique. The drilling is done at a maximum 50 RPM and the implant is placed ideally 3-4mm below the crest of the bone. The implants are available in five different diameters of 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, and 6.0mm and four lengths of 5.7, 6.0, 8.0 and 11.0mm. They come in two different surface coatings, HA and Uncoated.
The real cost and time savings of the BICON Implant occurs at the second stage surgery. Once you uncover the implant, you simply tap the abutment into the implant. After the abutment is in place, take an impression and cement a crown. No screws, screwdrivers, torque wrenches or a prosthetic kit are needed. Abutments are available in diameters of 3.5, 4.0, 5.0, 6.5 and 7.5mm and three angles of 0°, 15° and 25°. Before the final seating, you can rotate the abutment 360° and tap it into the implant in any position. You do not need to worry about rotation since the Bicon abutment does not rotate. Another feature unique to the Bicon System is a 15° O-Ring Abutment. This abutment provides clinical versatility for dentures especially in the maxilla. |
